Biography
Marco de Jong is currently pursuing a Master of Arts at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Marco's Samoan ancestry has helped him find a passion for the Pacific and he is currently learning gagana S?moa. With others, he formed and energised the University's History Society which is active on campus and in New Zealand schools. Marco also mentors all undergraduate M?ori and Pacific history students at Auckland. At Oxford, Marco will pursue a D.Phil in History with a focus on climate change diplomacy. He wants to become a force for Pacific people through either education, academia or diplomacy, to ensure decisions are made with, and not for, islanders.?
