Ali Daher

Biography

Ali is a Jordanian student majoring in mechanical engineering with a concentration in biological engineering at MIT. Ali is passionate about using engineering to find solutions to biological problems, and has co-authored several papers in the field. He helped develop a robotic medical device at MIT, which assists survivors of neurological injuries with rehabilitation of gait and balance. He is working with MIT's MSEAS lab on developing a predictive mathematical model for the evolution of Glioblastoma Multiforme, a highly aggressive brain tumor. He has been involved with multiple organizations, including MIT Arab Student Organization, MIT-Harvard Relay for Life, and Caritas Jordan volunteering for displaced populations, and was a tutor and teaching assistant. At Oxford, Ali intends to build on his multidisciplinary research career in computational biomedical engineering. Ali enjoys playing basketball with his Intramural team, having previously played on the Jordan National team.
