Biography
Chevano Baker completed an MSc Financial Economics at the University of Birmingham and a BSc Actuarial Science at the University of the West Indies (UWI) while on full scholarships. His postgraduate dissertation focused on the measurement and analysis of the product mixes of Jamaican depository institutions. In his current role as Financial Economist at the (Central) Bank of Jamaica, Chevano has completed research on the determinants of bank failures in Jamaica. Driven by a passion for human capital development, Chevano mentors individuals in career planning and enrichment. He has also been heavily involved in leadership, volunteerism, debate, and performing arts in school and the wider community. Chevano is an Alumni Ambassador of The UWI and Ambassador of the Governor General of Jamaica's 'I Believe' Initiative.
