In Focus: Andrew Murray on the Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Responses on Child Sexual Abuse

Monday 03 November, 2025

Andrew Murray (Rhodesia & University 1971) served as a Commissioner on the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.  He was a Senator for Western Australian from 1996 to 2008, focusing on a variety of finance, economics and business issues; on accountability, governance and electoral reform; and on institutionalised children. His earlier business background includes roles as an executive and director in public and private corporations as well as owning and managing his own businesses.

On a recent visit to Rhodes House, Andrew delivered a short talk on the findings of the Royal Commission, with the hope that raising awareness of the Commission's findings will reduce the number of children suffering sexual abuse.
