Lauren Skinner

Biography

Lauren graduated with First Class Honours in Law from the Australian National University in 2019. She currently works as a criminal solicitor at the Aboriginal Legal Service, having previously volunteered at community legal centres in Canberra and the Northern Territory. Lauren intends to pursue a career in legal practice and law reform, with a focus on human rights and the impact of laws on marginalised groups in Australian society. She is an active member of the ACT legal profession, mentoring law students and serving on numerous committees. Having previously completed study in France, Papua New Guinea, and Peru, Lauren has an interest in languages, with skills in French, Spanish, and Arabic. She is also involved in her local netball community as a player, umpire, and coach.
