Biography
Poh Yong Han graduated magna cum laude with highest honours in Anthropology and East Asian Studies from Harvard University, with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration and Rights. Her senior thesis, "Love, Labour, Loss: Stories of Migrant Worker Poets and Storytellers in Singapore" won the Thomas T Hoopes prize. She spent two and a half years tutoring English as a Second Language (ESL) to Chinese migrants in the Greater Boston area and served as co-Editor-in-Chief of the Singapore Policy Journal. She is currently pursuing an MA in Southeast Asian Studies at the National University in Singapore, and plans to continue her studies in anthropology at Oxford, focusing on migration brokerage and the commodification of citizenship.
