Victoria is a senior at Lafayette College studying International Affairs. As an outgrowth of her work with refugees in the Netherlands, Victoria joined Lafayette Refugee Action, where she served as Government, Medical, and Finance Chair to assist in the resettlement of refugee families in the Easton community. Wanting to learn about on-the-ground conditions for refugees, Victoria spent part of her semester abroad conducting research on the effects of unstable food aid on socio-economic structures of refugee settlements in Adjumani, Uganda. Upon return, she engaged in a digital humanities project exploring how disarmament campaigns in South Sudan contributed to the ongoing violence. Employing innovative quantitative methods, she has since been exploring different factors that contribute to general acute malnutrition in refugee settlements across sub-Saharan Africa. Victoria is looking forward to expanding this work at the Refugee Studies Center at Oxford.
