Sophie Li

Biography

Sophie is a senior at Princeton University majoring in Politics and minoring in journalism. She has previously worked at a community empowerment non-profit in Hong Kong, a foreign policy think tank in Philadelphia, and a migration and refugee services agency in Washington D.C. At Princeton, she is interested in refugee and forced migration studies, creative nonfiction, and Chinese politics. Outside of academia, she provides research support for asylum applications as part of the Princeton Asylum Project and tutors middle school youth with CovEd, a student-led response to COVID-19. She has also volunteered with the National Suicide Hotline and a local crisis hotline, and served as a tutor with the Princeton Re-Entry and Employment Program. Sophie enjoys running, kickboxing, film photography, and a good bowl of soup.
