Sierra Sparks

Biography

Sierra is a senior year electrical engineering student at Dalhousie University. She has been involved with the engineering community across Canada, holding leadership positions with the Dalhousie Undergraduate Engineering Society and the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students. She is passionate about increasing the number of underrepresented youth in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, which she does through her involvement with the Women in Engineering Society and an African Nova Scotian Math tutoring program. Sierra wishes to continue to be a role model for young people in and outside of engineering, and at Oxford, she hopes to investigate how machine learning tools can improve the accessibility of medical imaging. Outside of her studies, she is a rugby player with her school's club and enjoys playing piano.
