Peter Andringa

Biography

Peter Andringa received his B.A. with highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, double-majoring in Journalism and Computer Science. As a Robertson Scholar he was also dual-enrolled at Duke University, taking classes and living on both campuses. His research included studies of local news on Facebook and an Honors thesis on the design of news in augmented reality. Peter currently works as a data visualisation engineer at the Washington Post, applying technology to special projects for the newsroom. He has also published stories and interactive graphics in the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian, and NBC. While at Oxford, Peter hopes to pursue an MSc in Social Science of the Internet, with a focus on digital news and trust in media.
