Jia Wan

Biography

Jia Wan is a research professional at Chicago Booth working on market design. She graduated first in her class from Columbia University with a B.A. in Applied Mathematics, and also completed an M.S. in Computer Science. Jia received the Albert Asher Green Memorial Prize for the best record of scholarship in Columbia College, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship, and was inducted to Phi Beta Kappa. Jia's research covers graph theory, algorithmic understanding of fairness notions in matchings, allocation schemes for coronavirus testing resources, and dynamic double auctions. She also competed in robotic contests. Jia volunteered at Habitat for Humanity Vietnam and was an Arete Fellow at Columbia Effective Altruism. She hopes to pursue an academic career dedicated to economics and policy research.
