Varun Shankar

Biography

Varun Shankar is in his final year of an integrated Master's in Mechanical with Automotive Engineering at the University of Bath. Varun is passionate about finding engineering solutions to reduce emissions from the automotive sector. He completed a year-long industrial placement in the Fuels R&D Department at Shell, where he worked on combustion modelling and emissions analysis. During this period, he co-authored a paper on the evaluation of particulate matter indices published in the Journal Fuel. He pursued a summer internship at the University of Oxford researching NOx emissions. His goal is to enable Zambia's transition to a low carbon economy. Additionally, he enjoys going to the gym and is keen to promote Engineering as a Student Ambassador.
