Isabella Lenihan-Ikin

Biography

Isabella Lenihan-Ikin (she/her) is currently pursuing a DPhil in Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on the health impacts of climate change on workers, through a just transition lens. She is deeply committed to helping address the health emergency that climate change is responsible for.

Isabella has a diverse background in community political campaigning and organising, having previously worked in strategic political campaigning and organising for unions, and having served as the elected National President of the New Zealand Union of Students' Associations. She brings experience in government relations, media, strategic planning and implementation.

In 2022/2023, Isabella read a Masters of Science in International Health and Tropical Medicine at the University of Oxford. She also has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science with Honours (First Class) from Te Herenga Waka | Victoria University of Wellington.

Isabella is a creative and innovative thinker, and enjoy drawing on these skills to solve complex problems. She is always seeking opportunities to learn, collaborate and organise. She enjoys swimming in the ocean, cooking, reading, running, and sewing her own clothes.
