Biography

Isabella Lenihan-Ikin (she/her) is a union and community organiser and campaigner. She has worked for public and private sector unions in Aotearoa New Zealand, including NZEI Te Riu Roa (education union), Aotearoa Legal Workers' Union. In 2020 she was the National President of the New Zealand Student Union, following a stint on the Victoria University of Wellington University Council and Victoria University of Wellington Student’ Association. She mentors grassroots activists through the OurActionStation platform (sister organisation of MoveOn, Get Up!). Isabella holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) and a Bachelor of Laws from Te Herenga Waka | Victoria University of Wellington. Isabella will be studying a Masters’ of International Health and Tropical Medicine. Her research interest is the health impacts of climate change. She enjoys swimming in the ocean, cooking, reading, running, and sewing her own clothes.
