Siobhan is a physicist at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation. There her diverse role has entailed computational reactor physics, the development of measurement standards of radioactivity, and the construction of extreme experimental conditions for samples in neutron scattering. Siobhan enjoys teaching people about science, in particular physics. She has taught with the Australian Science Olympiad program for five years. This is part of her broader interest in education and accessibility. Hailing originally from Buninyong in Victoria, Siobhan has travelled near and far for science and outreach including the World Science Festival Brisbane, the International Physics Olympiad, and the University of Tokyo. She intends to pursue a career in physics at international beamlines alongside academia and industry. Siobhan likes trail running, ultramarathons, and navigation challenges.
