Biography

Between 2017-2019, Joshua Nott completed a Masters of Public Policy (with Distinction) and a Masters of African Studies at the University of Oxford. He represented the University's Men's Water Polo team and achieved his Oxford Blues. Since his graduation, Joshua has worked on the establishment of Rise — a new initiative from Schmidt Futures and the Rhodes Trust. Part of a $1 billion philanthropic commitment by Eric and Wendy Schmidt, Rise focuses on identifying extraordinarily talented young people from around the globe and empowering them to work for the public good. Joshua is a keen student of African public policy challenges and is particularly interested in Southern and East African development and integration. In addition to his professional qualifications from the University of Oxford, Joshua holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Distinction) and a Bachelor of Social Science with Distinction in Political Studies from the University of Cape Town.
