Tiana Dinham is a senior Robertson Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she majors in Geological Sciences with an Earth Science concentration and Geography. Her research interests focus on water quality, contaminant fate and transport, and the mobilisation of geogenic contaminants under environmental stress. Tiana is a Duke Climate Scholar and has conducted research with the United States Geological Survey, the UNC Isotopic Geochemistry Laboratory, and the Duke Water Quality Lab, examining how oil spills, mining legacies, and agricultural inputs influence groundwater and surface water chemistry. She is the founder of the Rainwater Initiative for Sustainability and Empowerment (RISE), which supports community-led rainwater harvesting and water safety education in Jamaica. At Oxford, Tiana plans to pursue the MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management and later a DPhil on Geography and the Environment, with the goal of helping ensure that all Jamaicans have access to clean water. Outside of her studies, she is a passionate football (soccer) fan, enjoys reading, and spends as much time outdoors as possible.
