Shafaq Batool

Biography

Shafaq Batool is a fourth-year honours Psychology (BSc) student at the University of Calgary. She’s part of the Scholars Academy and the Arts and Science Honours Academy (ASHA). She co-founded the Khairiyat Women’s Health Equity Network, which develops accessible and culturally grounded health resources, and has conducted space health neuroimaging research with NeuroLab UCalgary through an Alberta Innovates Summer Studentship, earning presentation awards at the Canadian Space Health Research Network Symposium at Western University and at the University of Calgary Undergraduate Research Symposium. She contributes to the Canadian Commission for UNESCO’s Youth Advisory Group through the SYNCtogether initiative and the Governance Committee. She is also a part of the 2025 3M National Student Fellowship Cohort. Shafaq grew up shaped by her Kashmiri community, which taught her ehsās, the responsibility to understand how her actions shape others.
