Mabile M. Jöthdít

Biography

Mabile M. Jöthdít is a First Class Honours Law graduate from the University of Juba, passionate about dismantling political impunity through constitutional reform. As a legal advocate and Program Coordinator at the South Sudan Youth Interface, he spearheaded the advocacy that successfully secured direct youth representation in the National Constitutional Review Commission, a body mandated with the drafting of a new permanent constitution in South Sudan. A champion for inclusion, Mabile directed the Achai Wiir Foundation, where he oversaw the logistics to distribute motorised wheelchairs to over 2,000 persons with disabilities, targeting IDPs and individuals in conflict-affected zones across the country. He has expanded this leadership continent-wide as Chair of the AU-EU Youth Voices Lab Advisory Board and as South Sudan’s first-ever EAC Youth Ambassador, mobilising grassroots and youth-driven EAC integration campaigns. As an internationally accredited elections observer, Mabile champions democratic integrity across Africa, having recently observed elections in Kenya, Liberia, and South Africa. A celebrated orator, Mabile is a winner of multiple Best Speaker Awards, both in the regional and South Sudan National Inter-Universities Debate Championships and is a three-time Best Oralist in National Moot Court competitions. At Oxford, he hopes to pursue the BCL and MSc in Law and Finance to interrogate how post-conflict states weaponise peace agreements to defer transitional justice, while acquiring the tools to map the capital flight that fuels this political impunity. Away from policy and podiums, Mabile enjoys travelling and is an ardent Manchester United fan.
