Julie Beaulieu holds a B.A. in Social Research & Public Policy and Political Science from New York University Abu Dhabi. Growing up on a dairy farm in rural Québec inspired her academic interests in sustainable food production and food security in conflict zones. She conducted field research in Uzbekistan on drought impacts and international efforts to promote sustainable agricultural production, and her senior thesis explores the possibility of integrating Indigenous techniques and crops into modern food systems of Canada and Australia to enhance sustainability and health. Julie is also an avid backpacker who has travelled to over 30 countries and serves as captain of her university’s dragon boat team.
