Isaac Bahler is a fourth-year student completing a combined honours degree in earth science and physics at Dalhousie University, along with a certificate in science communication and leadership. His academic work focuses on carbon dioxide removal and the global carbon cycle, particularly river alkalinity enhancement and associated geochemical processes. Isaac works as a Research Analyst at CarbonRun, the world’s first river-focused carbon removal company, where he helps design experiments, write scientific papers, and develop novel technologies to improve monitoring and implementation of carbon removal techniques, for which he is a co-inventor on multiple patents. He is also a co-founder of Equlantic, a startup developing a platform for modular autonomous aquatic monitoring that has secured national and international innovation funding. Outside of academics, Isaac is a varsity swimmer and enjoys reading fantasy and science fiction. At Oxford, he hopes to pursue a DPhil in Earth Science.
