Emma Finn

Biography

Emma L.B. Finn, Annapolis, is a senior at Harvard University, where she is completing double majors in Mathematics and Classics as well as a concurrent master’s degree in Statistics. Her Classics thesis explores how developments in the theory of quantification shaped how Greek historians understood their past and future, and her second thesis in Mathematics examines when and why generative models fail to generalize beyond their training data. Emma is active in numerous campus organizations, including coordinating a weekly lunch forum for researchers to discuss machine learning and neuroscience. At Oxford, Emma intends to pursue the M.Sc. by Research in Statistics.
