Danny Ndikuriyo

Biography

Danny Ercy Ndikuriyo is a senior Software Engineering student at United States International University–Africa, passionate about using artificial intelligence to advance fairness and inclusion. As a Machine Learning Researcher at Deeptrack, he investigated algorithmic bias in social media systems, and at Safaricom, he contributed to Kenya’s mobile money payment infrastructure. He co-developed LeadTheWay at Senses Hub, an AI-powered smart cane for the visually impaired, and SignStream, a real-time sign language translation system for deaf students, which was a finalist in Microsoft’s Hack4PWD hackathon. A KamiLimu alumnus and 2024 Palantir Future Scholar, one of only ten recipients globally recognized for using technology for social good, Danny hopes to pursue a master’s in Social Data Science at Oxford to advance fairness and explainability in large language models, particularly for low-resource languages. Outside the lab, he enjoys playing volleyball and serves as vice-captain of his university team.
