Biography

Alice is finishing her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Cognitive Science and Philosophy, and is a recipient of the National Scholarship at U of T. Alice is active on campus, serving on the board of the University of Toronto Student Union and organizing with Climate Justice U of T, among other activities. Participating in the Laidlaw Scholars Program allowed her to research conspiracy theory belief and to start working with Arctic Mayors' Forum, where she helps ensure local leaders and people across the Arctic are connected and represented in policy development and implementation. Alice grew up St. John's, where her community taught her the value of laughter, music, art, generosity, and joy — all qualities woven into the identities of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. Before attending U of T, Alice attended Pearson College UWC on a provincial scholarship. Alice is excited to continue working towards building resilient communities at and beyond Rhodes.
