Malek Alhajkhouder

Biography

Malek (he/him) is a physics student and former scholar of the Heinrich Böll Foundation. After completing his undergraduate studies at the Leibniz University Hannover, he pursued his master’s degree focusing on particle physics at the University of Heidelberg, where he became a member of the Young Researchers Convent of the STRUCTURES Cluster of Excellence.

Growing up in the MENA region and moving between different countries are experiences that have shaped his personality. He further enriched his international journey with a semester at La Sapienza University in Rome.

At Oxford, Malek plans to continue his research in physics, seeking answers to questions regarding elementary particles. His goal is to inspire more students, especially from the Levant, to pursue fundamental research.

Besides academics, Malek enjoys meditation (yoga) and callisthenics. He is also an active member of Collegium Academicum, a self-governing dormitory and cultural centre in Heidelberg.
