Tori Harwell

Biography

Tori, class of 2024, is majoring in African and African American studies and environmental analysis at Washington University in St. Louis. Their undergraduate thesis is applying queer and Black theoretical frameworks to cocoa farming practices in Ghana. At the University of Oxford, Tori will continue pursuing interdisciplinary research around the impact of colonization and imperialism. During their undergraduate studies, Tori advocated for accessibility to complete humanities research by minorized students. Throughout their life, They want to empower BIPOC communities to implement their own culturally specific climate change mitigation tactics and create more equitable green energy governance programs internationally.
