Tommy Batterman

Biography

Tommy Batterman, Washington, D.C., graduated from Georgetown University in May 2022 with a B.A. in History. He then served as a research specialist at the U.S. Department of Justice. At Georgetown, his undergraduate thesis focused on the history of plague and challenged the narrative of the fall of Byzantine northern Italy. While at Georgetown, Tommy was also the lead percussionist in the Georgetown University Jazz Ensemble and bandleader and general manager for Georgetown Cabaret. He also worked as a zookeeper aide in the National Zoo's primate unit. At Oxford, he will continue his studies in history.
