Tatyana Nieves Brown

Biography

Tatyana Nieves Brown, Garland, graduated from New York University Abu Dhabi in 2022 with a B.A. in Social Research and Public Policy. She is now a Henry Luce Scholar in Taiwan working with the 2023 Taipei Biennial at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. Tatyana’s practice is at the crossroads of international social justice movements and culture work. She builds cultural and policy innovation spaces that connect Puerto Rico’s transition from a U.S. Territory status to similar plights in the wider world. She has developed programs at the National Museum of African American History and Culture and co-founded a Black feminist space in Abu Dhabi. At Oxford, she will continue her studies at the intersection of social policy and visual, material and museum anthropology.
