Hou Sang (Samson) Cheng is from Macao SAR China, graduated from Tsinghua University's Global Environment Program and is presently enrolled as a Schwarzman Scholar. His primary academic interests revolve around climate diplomacy and development financing. He interned at the China’s National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation, United Nations Development Programme’s Biodiversity Finance Initiative, and the World Bank Group's International Finance Corporation. He has attended many UN conferences like Climate Change SB56, COP27, and Biodiversity COP15, and has made numerous media appearances as a Global Alliance of Universities on Climate (GAUC) Global Youth Ambassador. He co-found Tsinghua University’s Student Net-zero Future, serving as an interdisciplinary knowledge-sharing platform, fostering discussions and initiatives aimed at achieving carbon neutrality.
