Rachel Niesen

Biography

Rachel is a doctor from Melbourne, Australia who graduated from Monash University in 2022 and has since been working as a junior doctor at Alfred Hospital. She is passionate about health equity, particularly the disproportionate impact of climate change on health in vulnerable populations and has held national leadership roles with the Australian Medical Students’ Association and Doctors for the Environment Australia. At Oxford, Rachel will complete further studies to address health inequity, particularly for Australia’s rural and remote populations. Outside of medicine, Rachel is an avid rock climber, hiker, and runner.
