Luke is finishing a BSc in Sustainable Design Engineering at the University of Prince Edward Island, focusing on mechatronics and sustainable energies. In his engineering capstone project, he is creating a smart waste bin powered by machine vision that informs users of their domestic waste to inspire them to change their purchasing and disposal habits. Luke is a Sailor 3rd Class with the Royal Canadian Navy, where he is working to bring a French-speaking perspective to his Naval Reserve Division. He has been heavily involved in the UPEI Engineering Society, has volunteered with Special Olympics, has taught coding to Girl Guides, and founded UPEI Ultimate (Frisbee) — leading the brand-new team to Atlantics and Nationals. Luke is passionate about the intersection between engineering and politics, and hopes to further these studies at Oxford.
