Biography
Lucy Tu is a graduate of Harvard College with a double concentration in Sociology and the History of Science. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa 24 and a recipient of Harvard’s prestigious Presidential Public Service Fellowship in recognition of her service work in K-12 science education. As a Research Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Harvard Kennedy School, Lucy has published articles in The Lancet and New England Journal of Medicine. Her current work investigates how U.S. healthcare providers invoke the power of scientific evidence to influence reproductive law and patients’ reproductive healthcare decisions.
Lucy is also an award-winning science writer with words in The Guardian, The Atlantic, and Smithsonian Magazine. Her work has been cited by the Brennan Center for Justice, United Nations Population Fund, and Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services. Most recently, she served as the youngest recipient of the AAAS Mass Media Fellowship, which sponsored her work as a reporter for Scientific American.
