Joann is interested in studying the possibility of faith as an object of public dialogue. She likes to combine her passion for writing to explore interactions between faith and everyday life. She started her academic journey with a BA in English from Christ University and then graduated with an MA in English from Jawaharlal Nehru University. At Oxford, she plans to study theology. She aspires to integrate her literary skills with theological studies and open up novel forms of reading sacred texts. She wants to explore how the Bible addresses questions of gender and dreams of an India with more women theologians. She loves music, fiction, film and having long conversations about life over cups of tea.
