Biography

Jervon Sands graduated summa cum laude from Saint John’s University with a B.A. in Applied Physics. While there he promoted cultural awareness as co-chair of the Archipelago Caribbean Association and encouraged campus sustainability with the Eco-House community. Since graduating Jervon has worked with Yale Young Global Scholars as a resident advisor and currently serves as a Benedictine Volunteer at Colegio San Antonio Abad in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Jervon is passionate about climate justice. He conducted research at United Nations COP 27 in Egypt and presented at the 2023 Society for Applied Anthropologists conference. Jervon's professional experience includes internships with Ashden Global Climate Change Charity London, UK, the Bahamas Department of Land & Surveys and Department of Physical Planning. At Oxford he hopes to understand how small island nations can improve their response to pressing environmental challenges.
