Biography

Grant J. GianGrasso, Buffalo, attended the University of Virginia as a Jefferson Scholar, graduating in 2024 with an MPH, a BA in Human Biology and French with Highest Distinction, and a minor in Spanish. At UVA, he conducted infectious disease research on genetic determinants of the illness cryptosporidiosis, volunteered as a firefighter and EMT in Charlottesville, and founded The Virginia Medical Review student science publication. Grant also studied Bengali in Kolkata, India as a Critical Language Scholar, subsequently aiding his lab’s research in Dhaka, Bangladesh. At Oxford, Grant is pursuing an MSc in Genomic Medicine and an MSc in Neuroscience. Afterward, he plans to attend medical school at NYU. In his free time, Grant enjoys playing jazz trumpet and is an active stand-up comedian.
