Biography

Ewerechukwu, a Computer Science graduate from Covenant University, achieved a perfect CGPA of 5.0/5.0 and earned recognition as the Overall Best Graduating Student (Valedictorian). She received prestigious awards, including The Future Awards Africa Award for Academic Achievement. Her passion for technology ethics and inclusivity is evident in her undergraduate thesis, where she highlighted AI bias in dermatology to enhance skin disease diagnoses for black individuals. At the University of Oxford, Ewerechukwu hopes to deepen her understanding of technology and how people use it. As a Product Manager at Spotify, Ewerechukwu is committed to empowering users in emerging markets. She has interned at Mastercard, Andela and KPMG. Beyond her academic and professional achievements, Ewerechukwu is passionate about diversity in STEM. Her commitment to community-building is reflected in leadership roles at Hebron Startup Lab, West Africa's inaugural university-based startup incubator, as the vice president of the National Association of Computer Science Students, Covenant University Chapter, in 2021. She is a Kleiner Perkins Fellowship Finalist for 2022 and a Grace Hopper Celebration EMEA Scholar for 2021. Ewerechukwu aspires to contribute to discussions on inclusion in technology and the psychology and sociology of internet users in emerging markets. Her overarching goal is to advance our understanding of technology's impact on marginalised segments of society, driving ethical product development that uplifts communities and bridges the digital divide.
