Biography

Eleanor M. V. Wikstrom, Oakland, is a senior at Harvard College where she majors in Social Studies, minors in Cognitive Science, and is a junior Phi Beta Kappa. Her research is focused on the twentieth-century U.S. system of English-only education in the Philippines as a form of epistemic colonialism. She is the Editorial Chair for The Harvard Crimson, spearheaded student efforts to secure Filipino language courses at Harvard, and has performed poetry for the United Nations. She was on the Harvard Track and Field team and has qualified for the Boston Marathon. At Oxford, she will continue her studies in U.S. colonial history.
