Biography

Chelysea Irakoze earned her Distinction bachelor’s degree in economics and management sciences from the University of Burundi in 2022. Born and raised in Bujumbura, she has consistently demonstrated her leadership and responsibility for her nation by spearheading and co-founding projects with other youthful Burundian leaders like clean-up campaigns, community English classes for free, and volunteering in various local non-governmental organizations. Her interests lie more in economic analysis, the capacity for reason, and the application of quantitative economic disciplines to the process of sustainable global decision-making. She is currently finalizing her traineeship with the World Food Programme in the country office of Burundi, which has equipped her with professional expertise in monitoring and evaluation. Chelysea aims to dedicatedly pursue her graduate studies in economics at Oxford.
