Biography

Chelysea earned in 2022 her bachelor’s degree (Distinction) in Economics and Management sciences from the University of Burundi. Born and raised in Bujumbura, she has consistently demonstrated her leadership and responsibility for her nation by spearheading and co-founding development projects, such as clean-up campaigns, free English classes for the diverse community groups, and volunteering in local non-governmental organizations. Her interests lie more in microeconomics, labour economics, and behavioural economics, particularly in human capital formation. Before Oxford, she completed traineeships with the World Food Programme and the Heineken Brarudi S.A, which equipped her with professional expertise in monitoring and evaluation and Total Productive Management(TPM). She is currently finalizing the MSc in Economics for Development at Oxford, aiming to dedicatedly pursue her further graduate studies. During her leisure time, she delights in cooking, partaking in profound discussions, and setting off on thrilling adventures.
