Brendon Mahere

Biography

Brendon is pursuing an MSc in Sustainability, Enterprise, and the Environment at Oxford and holds a BSc in Engineering and Management Science with a concentration in Renewable Energy Systems from Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. He is a Makomborero Zimbabwe and Mastercard Foundation (ALA) Scholar, as well as a 2024 Rhodes Scholar. Passionate about sustainable finance and climate tech entrepreneurship, Brendon is a 2x founder of startups reimagining financing for construction and energy projects. He has broad research experience across natural climate solutions, metal organic framework synthesis, and circularity in aviation. Brendon also brings international professional experience from his work with a maritime firm in New York City and a UK-based boutique consultancy. Previously, he served as the Regional Leader for Africa at PRME Global Students, collaborating with sustainability-focused student organizations. In his free time, Brendon enjoys jiu jitsu, watercolor painting, and football.
