Biography

Bogdan Lytvynenko holds a B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Economics from Concordia University in Montreal. He is passionate about covering Canadian politics and global conflicts including the Russo-Ukrainian War, having worked in London, UK, as a Joan Donaldson Scholar at CBC News. Bogdan has reported on traumatic survival stories of Ukrainian refugees with the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies and has served as the Managing Editor of The Concordian newspaper.

He is originally from Dnipro, Ukraine, where he trained professionally as a ballroom dancer and became a European Championship finalist. Being fluent in French, Ukrainian, Russian, and Spanish, Bogdan’s academic background includes science journalism research in synthetic biology, debunking disinformation, and empowering Quebec’s Indigenous on-reserve youth via journalistic storytelling.

Amid numerous military conflicts worldwide, Bogdan aspires to delve deeper into international politics at Oxford, focusing his research on the United Nations Security Council. In his spare time, Bogdan is an avid skier and traveller, having already visited 30 countries, always eager for more adventures!
