Aishani Aatresh

Biography

Aishani Aatresh is a senior at Harvard majoring a degree of her own design coined Complex Biosocial Systems. It explores how uncertainty is conceptualized and acted upon across scales vis-a-vis changing biological and sociopolitical landscapes. Her interests revolve around emerging global problems of science and technology and how the rights and responsibilities of citizens and institutions are negotiated alongside the very manifestations of these problems and various proposed solutions to them, beyond the remit of the nation-state. She is a Fellow in the Program on Science, Technology and Society at the Kennedy School and an undergraduate researcher in the Chan School of Public Health’s Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics. Aishani has also written extensively about trends in synthetic biology for SynBioBeta and worked on computational immunoengineering and biotech development with Distributed Bio and Centivax, emergency management within NYC Health+Hospitals’ Special Pathogens Program, and pandemic preparedness and response with the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations.
