Aishani Aatresh

Biography

Aishani graduated from Harvard College in 2024 with an AB in Complex Biosocial Systems, a degree of her own design that studied how uncertainty is diagnosed and addressed across changing biological and sociopolitical landscapes. Her interests revolve around emerging global problems of science and technology and how the rights and responsibilities of citizens and institutions are negotiated alongside the very manifestations of these problems and various proposed solutions to them, beyond the remit of the nation-state. Her undergraduate research focused on outbreak preparedness and global governance through the Program on Science, Technology and Society at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. This work has spanned diagnostics, surveillance, mathematical modeling, and vaccine development for infectious diseases, including internships and field work with the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness, the System-wide Special Pathogens Program at NYC Health+Hospitals, and biotech company Centivax (formerly Distributed Bio).
