Tarfa Alshubayli

Biography

Tarfa is an electrical engineer working for the Ministry of Energy. She completed her bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Alfaisal University in June 2021. During her undergraduate studies, she was a part of the Alfaisal Boeing Solar Car Team, where she won several research competitions alongside her teammates. Tarfa is also passionate about knowledge transfer and community creation, which led her to establish Al-Majlis Club — a free-thinking space to converse about the projections of philosophy, arts, and society in the modern world. Understanding Saudi's unique position in the Energy sector, Tarfa is keen to partake in the research of the world’s energy transition and the role of technology and innovation in it. At Oxford, Tarfa aims to investigate energy systems and their relationship with society to lead informed, insightful, and impactful innovation policies in Energy.
