Sophie Bryant

Biography

Sophie Bryant is a senior at Columbia University studying East Asian studies and mathematics. Originally from Moscow, she lived in Shanghai for five years before moving to the Adirondacks. Her professional and academic interests lie at the intersection of ethnography, education, and foreign policy, and her research experiences at the Brookings Institution, Council on Foreign Relations, and Carnegie China have solidified her interests in Chinese domestic and foreign politics, Central Asian security, and Sino-Russia relations. Meanwhile, she pursues her commitment to education through NGO work, tutoring, and independent research. Most recently, she has been developing an interactive philosophical logic curriculum for elementary students aimed at addressing unproductive discourse in the US. At Oxford, she hopes to continue her studies in East Asian affairs.
