Shreyas Hallur

Biography

Shreyas is an Angier B. Duke scholar, a Margolis scholar, and a Nakayama Public Service Scholar at Duke University, where he studies statistics and public policy. He is interested in Medicaid policy and in improving long-term care for seniors and people with developmental disabilities through shared decision-making. At Duke, Shreyas advocated for greater campus accessibility through organizations including Duke Disability Alliance, Duke Student Government, and Neurodiversity Connections. Currently, he serves on the board of directors of a private school that has designed a novel, hands-on STEM curriculum to meet the educational interests of its autistic students. Shreyas has also initiated a program at the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center to create inclusive science learning opportunities for autistic children that has won a $1 million grant from the National Science Foundation. Through successive government internships, Shreyas has conducted extensive research into Medicaid reform in Massachusetts, Arizona, and with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation. At Oxford, Shreyas will continue his studies in long-term care and government policymaking.
