Samantha Climie

Biography

Samantha studied a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours at the University of Tasmania. She spent 15-months in Japan on a New Colombo Plan Scholarship, studying foreign policy and Japanese language and interning at the Australian Embassy and the Australian and New Zealand Chamber of Commerce. Samantha is passionate about the environment and has used her legal research skills to support environmental organisations. She has also volunteered with refugee causes in both Australia and Japan and is currently a Director on the Tasmanian Refugee Legal Service Board. In her spare time, Samantha works as a bushwalking guide and as a Watercraft Operator and Deputy Voyage Leader with the Australian Antarctic Division. She also enjoys trail running, cycling, swimming, and sailing.
