Max Kirkby

Biography

Max is a Tuckwell Scholar at the ANU, where he has just completed his Honours year in immunology. A passionate researcher with several publications, he holds active appointments at the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the University of Sydney, having previously worked at WEHI in Melbourne. Max has also been deeply interested in Indigenous health, volunteering and working at organisations around Australia. In addition, he has led several student initiatives and works as a sessional academic at the ANU, where he teaches physiology. Outside of science, Max plays for the First Grade side at the ANU Cricket Club. At Oxford, Max intends to pursue a DPhil in Clinical Neurosciences, where he will work to understand the nature of information processing during neurodegenerative disease.
