Jo Auer

Biography

Jo completed a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Hons) at The University of Queensland in 2019 and is currently finishing a Bachelor of Mathematics, majoring in statistics and pure maths. Alongside her studies, Jo works at the e61 Institute—a not-for-profit economic think-tank—where she researches the recessionary impacts on disadvantaged youth. She also volunteers with Citizens’ Climate Lobby and contributes to environmentally focused research at UQ. In the future Jo aspires to use her skills as an economist to work in partnership with leaders in a diverse range of fields to create transformative climate change policies.

Outside of her academic pursuits, Jo is an elite distance runner. She has won several national titles over events ranging from the 800m and 1,500m to the 10,000m.
