Heer Cheema

Biography

Heer Cheema is an MPhil student in Modern South Asian Studies at the University of Oxford. Her research explores 20th-century Urdu print cultures, focusing on how girlhood was shaped through practices of intimacy, world-making, and quotidian dreaming. Though her current focus has been on Urdu and Hindi, she is eager to continue expanding her language skills, particularly into Persian. She also writes poetry and dabbles in watercolour.
