Ethan Nylen

Biography

Ethan Nylen (Maritimes, St. Thomas University). Originally from Saint John, New Brunswick, Ethan Nylen is in his fourth year of study at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick completing an honours degree in Great Books, with a major in Political Science. His research interest is the history of political thought; specifically, the political thought of Sir Francis Bacon. Ethan hopes to continue his honours thesis research at Oxford, looking at Sir Francis Bacon’s idea of philanthropy in political communities, and its significance in the history of political thought. Beyond his studies, Ethan is a varsity Cross Country athlete, moot court team captain, coordinator of a community GED tutoring program, and works as a writing centre tutor at St. Thomas University.
