Biography

Sydni Scott is a senior at Columbia University majoring in Political Science and minoring in African American studies. Sydni competes on the Women’s Track team, as well as serving on the student advisory board of the Eric Holder Initiative for Civil and Political Rights. Academically, she is a member of the National Political Science Honor Society and was selected for the Saltzman Student Scholar Fellowship at the School of International and Public Affairs. Her exploration of the international ramifications of racial politics led her to intern at the Council on Foreign Relations and the Atlantic Fellows for Racial Equity. During her time at Columbia Sydni founded The Amendment Project (TAP), a student-led grassroots initiative that seeks to foster discussion of reparative justice in American political discourse. In 2021, TAP mobilized a successful advocacy campaign for reparations in Oklahoma in acknowledgement of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and has gone on to collaborate with organizations like the NAACP and N’COBRA. Sydni loves music and sports and is keen to explore new opportunities at Oxford like singing in college choirs, playing football, and debate societies.
